Biannual Wrap-up Assembly Cum Emeritus Ceremony for Professor SHI Yuanhua and Ms. WANG Xiaohua in 2019

On July 1, 2019, the Biannual Wrap-up Assembly took place in Auditorium 104, moderated by Professor WU Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University. Dean WU briefed on capacity-building in the scopes of researches, think-tank construction, international collaboration and exchanges. The collection of data revealed the substantively progressive momentum geared up for the outstanding debut in the biannual phase, witnessing the incremental advancements to those of the corresponding periods prior to 2019 in the aspects of academic yields, policy-making advisory service. Professor WU conveyed unremitting and redoubling endeavors would be exerted to score distinctive accomplishments thus far and onwards. Party Secretary LIU Jiping communed specified deployment manifests on security, stability, academic events in social sciences, facilitating global outreaches and external liaisons.

  In convening the Biannual Assembly Cum Emeritus Ceremony for Professor SHI Yuanhua and Ms. WANG Xiaohua, Dean WU and Party Secretary LIU conferred Honorary Certificates of Appreciation for Retired Personnel in recognition of Prof. SHI and Ms. WANG’s extraordinay completion of the requisites vying for supremacy hereto pertaining.

Professor SHI Yuanhua, entered Fudan University in 1973, majoring in history. Over 44 years, SHI Yuanhua has nurtured talents with harboring integrity, meticulous scholarship, voluminous publications, consistently-treasured honors with remarkable distinction. In the phase of 2000 to 2019, Prof. SHI served as Director of the Center for Korean Studies, Chair of Academic Committee, Party Branch Secretary, Director of the Center for China’s Relations with Neighboring Countries in succession, constituting immeasurable endeavors to researches on Korean studies, China’s neighboring countries studies and the history of diplomacy, as evidenced to the vitality inherent in the prosperous and thriving orientation of the Institute. By virtue of Professor SHI’s unremitted and relentless dedication, the Center for Korean Studies at Fudan University has evolved into one of the premier academic hubs and think tanks nationwide. In the meanwhile, Prof. SHI facilitated the founding of the Center for China’s Relations with Neighboring Countries at Fudan University and propelled the coordinative network of the National State Collaborative Innovation Center, excelling at prerequisites leading to the superb research framework layout. Professor SHI have been accredited Extraordinary Research Output Awards appraised by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, First Prize of Shanghai Outstanding Academic Yields in Humanities and Social Sciences, Refined Chinese Think Thank Publication Awards. Dr. SHI, concurrently as Fudan Distinguished Professor, Expert with the Granted Special Allowance from the State Council, engages in the Research Project of Legendary Masterpiece called upon by the essentials of capacity-building at the thresholds of  World-Class Universities and First-Class Disciplines. The glamorous prime decades witness the pinnacles rendered in Prof. SHI’s scholastic attainment at Fudan, prolifically impressive in the epoch of vicissitudes.

  Ms. WANG Xiaohua, debuted professional career at Fudan in 2005, serving as Director of Administrative Office, Party Branch Secretary and Director of Party and Administrative Affairs. Over the fourteen years, her industrious competence, dedication, meticulous  consideration at an overall profile with  the outstanding commitment to the development, stability and progress of the Institute via the provisions of administrative support to the faculty members at the Institute, assisting the executive leaders in the daily operation and management of our community. Over the decade, Ms. WANG has assumed the participatory role of coordinating welfare services in trade unions and regarding women’s routine work.  Indispensable solicitude dwell in the all-round aspects of Ms. WANG’s vigorous ingenuity as a well-deserved "warmhearted elder sister" with the ardent pursuit to enhance cohesiveness and geniality in full swing.  

  In the ensuing ceremonious session, Professor SHI and Ms. WANG embarked on recollecting dribs and drabs of academics and career-pathing, extending profound gratitude coupled with cordial attachment to the colleagues of the community, keenly anticipated the flourishing prospects of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University.
