Professor Wu Xinbo Presents Attendance at the Global Town Hall 2020: Rebuilding from the COVID-19 World

On November 20th, 2020, Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of Institute of International Studies cum Director of Center for American Studies, Fudan University, presented attendance at the Global Town Hall Conference on “Rebuilding from the COVID-19” initiated by Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) upon invitation as the distinguished panelist at the 1st session “The State of the COVID-19 World in 2020”. H.E. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, delivered keynote remarks entitled “Strengthening Solidarity and Cooperation to Build a Better Future Together”.

The Opening Session of Global Town Hall 2020 featured an array of keynote panelists: Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies and Director of the Center for American Studies at Fudan University, Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia (2014), Professor Amitav Acharya, Distinguished Professor at the School of International Service at American University, H.E. Chan Heng Chee, Singaporean Ambassador-at-Large and Ambassador of Singapore to the United States (1996-2012), Professor Ichirō Fujisaki, President of Nakasone Peace Institute and Japanese Ambassador to the United States (2008-2012). Professor Gordon Flake, Founding Chief Executive Officer of the Perth USAsia Centre at The University of Western Australia moderated the first panel of the discussion by leading minds.

Global Town Hall 2020, convened virtually with the theme “Rebuilding from the COVID-19 World” as a 15-hour marathon of webinars, assembled dozens of prominent policy makers and public figures as esteemed guest speakers and over 7000 attendants from more than sixty countries around the world engaged in the event to re-imagine the post-pandemic world and further elaborated upon how to rebuild and reform our global community from the standpoints of economics, business, socio-culture, environment and governance.
