On the morning of July 20th, 2020, the Inauguration Ceremony of The Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Studies Center was convened in Beijing. Wang Yi, State Councilor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended the Inauguration Ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Qi Yu, Party Secretary of the CPC Committee and Head of the Party School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presided over the event. Officials from Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Policy Research Office of the CPC Central committee, Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, research experts, academics and representatives presented attendance at the special occasion of the ceremonial event.
At the ensuing Premier Specialists Appointment Ceremony and the Thematic Seminar on the afternoon, Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang conferred Letters of Appointment upon the honorary research fellow members. Professor Wu Xinbo, appointed to the distinguished membership, addressed the panel speech with regard to Sino-U.S. relationship. In an interview with CCTV News, the fellow deputies note that the world has been undergoing profound changes unseen in a century, we should grasp and conform to the trend of the times. China will give full play to the country's role as a major responsible power through promoting better development and governance to seize opportunities from the changes in order to usher in a new stage of major-country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics.
