On January 9th, 2020, Alexander T. J. Lennon, Editor-in-Chief of CSIS's flagship journal, The Washington Quarterly(hosted by the Elliott School of International Affairs, George Washington University) visited Center for American Studies, Fudan University with the delivery of a keynote academic presentation. Professor WU Xinbo, Director of the Center for American Studies and Dean of the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University moderated the fabulous event of the day.
Evolving around the theme of "Nuclear Security and the Trump administration's Arms Control Strategy", the distinguished presenter elaborated upon the perceptions with regard to the Trump administration's nuclear security strategic agenda and means of implementation. In the ensuing discussion rounds, the audience present conducted intensive and robust interactions with Dr. Lennon, probing into correlated issues on nuclear risks in the current global context, the withdrawal of the U.S. from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA and the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, the prospect of the trends of U.S. policy on DPRK & Iran Nuclear Issues as well as on endeavors to maintain global strategic stability.
